Best Acne Skin Treatments: Alternative Therapies

Just about everyone experiences acne at one time in their lives, much to their chagrin. Some of the methods that have been traditionally used to treat acne have proven to be harmful to the skin. Topical solutions have been known to dry out the skin and some medications can cause a photo sensitive reaction.

Although acne can be more than annoying, you no longer have to rely on traditional medications to treat this scourge. Alternate treatments are quite effective and have proven to be some of the best acne skin treatments. Here are some of them:

Blue Light Therapy

This is one of the more innovative forms of treating acne today. It incorporates light and targets the bacteria that causes the acne. Blue Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can be available at your dermatologist. It is approved by the FDA and has proven to be very effective at treating acne.

Blue Light Therapy does not work overnight, but then nothing does, despite claims to the contrary. It will take a few sessions for the therapy to begin working, but it will work to kill the bacteria that causes acne in your skin.

LHE Therapy

LHE stands for Light and Heat Energy. This type of therapy is also used in offices to treat acne and kill off bacteria. LHE Therapy is very effective and has been used with much success by dermatologists for years. Like Blue Light Therapy, it does take more than one treatment to start seeing results.

Herbal Supplements

You are what you eat and acne is caused from the inside, not the outside. Although most doctors believe that, contrary to popular belief, acne is not caused by chocolate or fatty foods but by hormonal in fluctuations, you can relieve the symptoms by taking some herbal supplements as well as vitamins.

Vitamin A works very well for the skin and is found in carrots naturally. Vitamin E capsules are usually gel filled and can be opened and applied directly to the skin. You can also take black currant seed oil as well as primrose oil to treat acne in an alternative form. In addition to putting Vitamin E capsules directly on your skin, you can also take Vitamin E internally along with Vitamin B6 to help your skin stay healthy.

Taking care of your skin is important. One way to do this is to eat a healthy diet filled with vitamins and nutrients. There are many alternatives to treating acne that do not involve toxic chemicals or medications that may end up doing more harm than good. Eat a balanced diet rich in Vitamins A, E and B6 and try Black Currant oil to help you fight off the problems with acne. If your acne becomes so troublesome that you feel that you need to see a dermatologist, you should discuss LHE Therapy or Blue Light Therapy, both of which have been proven effective at treating acne.

Acne is troublesome but there is no need to despair. Natural products and treatments have proven to be some of the safest and best acne skin treatments.
